About
This site represents the obsessions of an atypical book collector.Â
While I certainly love “valuable†books, that’s not necessarily what you’ll see here. For the most part, these are graphically interesting, but otherwise uncollectible, books that entered and exited bookstores quietly in the 50s, 60s, and 70s. I read a lot of these books, but my motivations for posting them here are primarily visual, since I’m a graphic designer. That’s why it’ll be a bit of a mixed bag.
If you see something you like, I encourage you to search it out online. A lot of these are cheap paperbacks, and I bet you can find them from some used seller on Amazon. But part of what makes these valuable to me is that they were lucky finds—glimpsed while passing the Physics section at the local hole-in-the-wall bookstore, or at a library book sale in Kalamazoo.
I’m debating whether Book Worship should include a list of my favorite book sellers in town, and around the country. I guess that’s the “right†thing to do with a site like this, but I’m selfish and don’t want to give anything away.
It remains to be seen where this site will go. In the mean time, enjoy.
